Today is Labor day. A day when everyone is outdoors spending time with their families and having a cookout. For us, sadly that's not what we are doing. Hubby is sick with food poisoning, and the boys and I are just having a lazy day. Cleaning up the house and of course re-trashing it, it's their special style of helping. While it being a lazy day here at the Thompson's, we still are having fun! Jamming to music always makes cleaning up easier.
During the boy's nap time today I kept thinking about a conversation I had with my mom earlier this morning. She always tells me how proud she is of me and she never has to worry about me, I'm a go getter. She got me thinking about well, just about everything with myself. For example, my Birthday is coming up in about a month and thinking over the last year what have I accomplished? Well not much, I mean of course I raise these two amazing and rambunctious boys, and spending time with my husband, but what about me? Have I taken any time for myself? I could not think of ONE thing that made me proud of myself and my own accomplishments from last year. And that's just plain sad, so I am going to change it! I created a "22 Before 22" list. Basically a yearly bucket list. From now until next year in 2014 I would need to complete the things on that list, but if I don't I won't be upset with myself, I will just transfer it to the new list for my 23rd Birthday.
Here is my 22 Before 22 list:
1-Get a new Magazine subscription
2-Run at least 3x a week
3-No more soda
4-Read and Finish 22 New books
5-Go back to school

This list is becoming so important to me. I am looking forward to seeing myself grow as a person even more by just doing little things throughout the year! So far start a blog can be crossed off. :)
Also before I end this post I want to mention why I created this blog and the meaning of the title. Keeping On My Toes, can obviously be because of my two boys, but it isn't mainly about them. It's about life in general and how everyday something new can pop up and surprise us and we have to be ready for it! Hence "Keeping on my toes." Also I created this blog for our families. We will be leaving for Japan soon and posting on here and adding photos will be great for them to read!
